The last Indoor Winter Farmers Market of the season will take place on Saturday, April 21, starting at 10:00 AM in the Emporia Humanitarian Center, 215 W. 6th Avenue (former Lowther South School). This completes the second season of year-round markets in Emporia as the organization enters its 30th year of operation. Indoor Winter Markets have been made possible via a generous grant from the Emil Babinger Charitable Trust.
The mild winter and early spring means you can expect to find an abundance of produce at the market that, in a more typical year, would not be expected for a few more weeks. The market also features a variety of home baked goods and artisan crafts, included jewelry. Homemade soaps and lotions, fresh flower bouquets, local honey, farm fresh eggs and locally made jerky are regular products available at the farmers market, year round.
Saturday’s market will feature live music from guitar player and cellist, Jane McCoy.
The market is currently accepting new vendors for the 2012 season. Vendor regulations can be downloaded at www.emporiafarmersmarket.org or leave a mailing address at 620-343-6555 or emporiaFM@gmail.com to receive a copy by mail.
