Third Season of Indoor Winter Markets Underway Thanks to Grant from Emil Babinger Charitable Trust

Third Season of Indoor Winter Markets Underway Thanks to Grant from Emil Babinger Charitable Trust

For increasing winter access to fresh and local produce, the Emporia Farmers Market is pleased to enter a third season of year round markets thanks to continued funding from the Emil Babinger Charitable Trust. The market takes place indoors at the Emporia Humanitarian Center, 215 W. 6th Avenue. Entrance through the southeast door begins at 10:00am on the first and third Saturday of each month, November through April.

The November 17 market features music by Bill Ihling and Jane McCoy.
These Emporia-based musicians combine their talents for an eclectic mix of songs from old and new country to classic “Americana.” A sampling of the produce and products you should find for sale: kettle corn, apples, homemade candies, root vegetables, winter squash, high tunnel greens, fresh farm eggs, baked goods, handmade soaps and lotions, jewelry, quilts, and holiday crafts. Many Emporia Farmers Market regular season vendors are also at the winter market.

The market is currently looking for area artists and crafters to participate in December’s Indoor Winter Market and Holiday Bazaar, which will take place on Saturday, December 1 and December 15. Those interested in this special opportunity to sell with the Emporia Farmers Market should contact market manager, Tracy Simmons, at
emporiaFM@gmail.com or 620-343-6555. Forms to sign up will also be available at the November 17 market. Deadline to sign up is November 23, 2012.
