Murphy's Menu Pie Cook-Off - Wednesday, August 20

Bake us a pie for the market on Wednesday, August 20. Murphy’s Menu returns to the market with a fruit pie cook-off. Make us your best and bring it to the market kiosk prior to the 5pm start time. Shoppers will have the opportunity to sample and vote for their favorites. You can’t win if you don’t enter! Who is Emporia’s best pie baker? Come shop the market and find out.

New Vendor: Bearcat Charms

Kate Nave joins the Emporia Farmers Market this year with jewelry and accessories incorporating re-purposed items.

Returning Vendor: Nona Lucia Pasta

Pasta of all kinds! Shoppers are thrilled to see the return of Andrea Garritano in 2014 with her wholesome selection of dried pastas. Yum!

Returning Vendor: Living the Dream

Tamie Vahsholtz has been a vendor at the Emporia Farmers Market since 2009. In 2014, Tamie brought some beautiful cut flowers. We can expect to see Tamie a the market with zinnias, sunflowers and fresh vegetables.

Returning Vendor: Hubert Veggies

Jase Hubert has been selling at the Emporia Farmers Market since 2005. Jase provides a variety of good, homegrown veggies and farm fresh eggs.

New Vendor: Dan's

Dan joined EFM early in July and several shoppers have already discovered his produce. Tomatoes, peppers, corn, cucumbers, potatoes, squash, green beans, and cabbage are among his garden goodies. Dan's also has farm fresh eggs and jelly. You can also expect to see cantaloupe and pumpkins.

Returning Vendors: Corn, Corn, Corn!

You may have noticed a several corn vendors at the market. Word is that their ears are sweet and delicious!

Steve Korthanke joins us from Robinson, Kansas, and is a returning vendor to the Emporia Farmers Market.

Denise Eccles is also a returning vendor from Gridley, KS.

Carl Reed comes to us from Pomona, KS.

New Vendor: Flat Earth Hobbies

Flat Earth Hobbies brought their handcrafted wooden decor and handmade jewelry to the Emporia Farmers Market. They also sell dry mixes for baked goods, some inspired by books, films and games.

Friendly Visitors Host the Emporia Farmers Market

On Wednesday, August 6, the market will be hosted by the Friendly Visitors Program. Find out what it takes to be a Friendly Visitor, or how the Friendly Visitor services might be of help to you or a loved one. The services provided by Friendly Visitor volunteers enable senior participants to continue living in their own homes when the need for assistance might be growing. Opportunities to volunteer can fit any schedule, ranging from a commitment of an hour or two per week to several hours a day.
