Plan for breakfast at the Emporia Farmers Market on Saturday, September 13, starting at 8:00 am. Friends of the Market will be serving Burritos for breakfast. Sausage or bacon burritos for $4.50 and vegetarian burritos for $4.00. Get yours early while supplies last!
There is an abundance of produce at the farmers market this time of year and shoppers are encouraged to keep the market on their calendars, twice weekly, through the end of October. A sampling of current market goods includes winter squash varieties, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, apples (many varieties), okra, watermelon, cantaloupe and more. Non-edibles at the market include handmade soaps and lotions, arts and crafts, handmade jewelry and ornamental yard art.
The Emporia Farmers Market takes place every Wednesday from 5-6:30pm and every Saturday at 8-10am in the parking lot at 7th & Merchant, downtown Emporia. More about shopping and selling at the market can be found at www.emporiafarmersmarket.org.
