The Annual Meeting of the Emporia Farmers Market will take place after market on Saturday, March 19. Start time will be approximately 12:15pm at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 828 Commercial. Lunch will be provided for 2016 registered vendors, active farmhands and Friends of the market. Guests and interested parties are welcome to attend at the cost of $5 per person. EFM board member elections take place at the annual meeting. The Emporia Farmers Market, a project of The Learning Connection of the Flint Hills, is guided by a volunteer board of directors. This board is responsible for the overall policy and direction of the market, and delegates responsibility for day-to-day operations to the market manager and committees. Commitment for a 2-year board position includes monthly meetings (approximately 1 to 1.5 hours) and occasional help with fundraisers, kiosk management during markets, market educational activities and social events. Interested parties should contact a current market board member or the market manager.
Indoor Winter Markets will take place in March and April on first and third Saturdays from 10:00am till Noon at 701 Commercial in downtown Emporia.
